Helpful Websites

I’m going to make it short and sweet today my friends. We are in the middle of our annual audit… and then there’s that little book… what’s it called? Oh yea… Made to Crave! The P31 office looks like a warehouse. We have amazing volunteers who come in every day to help get the books into your hands. This life-changing book is catching on like crazy! In fact… drumroll please… da-da-da-da-da… Made to Crave is now a New York Times best seller! We are jumping up and down excited. Ummm… that’s exercise… right :)

OK – short and sweet (like me): Many of you have asked me for a list of helpful websites – sites that provide information and resources to help plan healthy meals. Here’s a list of some of my favorites:

www.diabeticlivingonline.com

www.foodnetwork.com/healthy-eating/index.html

www.cleaneatingmag.com

www.eatingwell.com

www.healthylivingwithellie.com

www.glutenfreegirl.com

www.wholefoodmarket.com/recipes/

www.doctoroz.com

If you have website recommendations… please share!

OK – back to the audit :(

Sweetest Blessings,
LeAnn

What about http://www.heavenlyhomemakers.com? It’s not all low fat, exactly, but it IS all whole grain and made with whole foods. There’s a recipe for anything there you can think of!

I have been eating almost vegetarian for about a year now but have not made my family do it. I have seen a lot of benefits and so have been trying to ease my family into at least a few vegetarian meals. This week I found this website: http://www.ultimatedanielfast.com
I have only tried a couple of the recipes but they have been pretty simple and easy. I am looking forward to trying some of the others to see if I can find some hearty meals that everyone in my family will appreciate.

I love sparkrecipes.com. There are tons of recipes with the nutritionals already calculated.

Hi Star!
My husband and I became vegetarians about 8 months ago and we love it. At the beginning of the year, I switched to a raw vegan diet. I feel fantastic! Our boys are still carnivores, but are beginning to get curious about all of the veggies on our plates! ;) I have found a lot of great recipes on http://www.allrecipes.com . Just type in vegetarian into the search bar and WOW…a bunch of great recipes will come your way. I found one for black bean couscous that is AMAZING!!! Let me know if you would like the link! Thanks for posting your link. I checked it out and it looks great!

I have two healthy websites. chefmd.com and fullplatediet.com . Full Plate is devoted to high fiber foolds. Chef MD turns your kitchen into a medicine cabinet. Both offer some really awesome recipes.

Taste of Home has a terrific magazine called Healthy Cooking. Most, if not all, of the recipes give full nutrition info and the diabetic exchanges and they are wonderful recipes. Recipes with excessive amounts of sodium and fat don’t make the cut. And, you can search the website for recipes also: http://www.tasteofhome.com/Healthy-Cooking-Magazine.
