My Life and a Rerun

Good Morning my sweet friends! I know I haven’t posted since Monday but much is going on. The weeks leading up to She Speaks are my busiest of the year. I’m not complaining… I love every minute of it. I’m just a little (or a lot) short on time. Here is the cliff notes version of my life these days in and out of the kitchen, and the P31 office.

  • Kid on summer vacation. Always expecting food and lots of it. Go figure.
  • Looking at colleges for same kid.
  • Trying to figure out how I am going to pay for college for same kid.
  • Looking for affordable new office space for P31 since we have outgrown our small office.
  • Building a new home for me and that kid. (We are moving twice over the summer.)
  • Preparing to launch a new Proverbs 31 Ministries website (you will love it!!!).
  • Working on an overwhelming number of conference details until very late at night.
  • Eating a lot of cereal and scrambled eggs because I, the She Cooks gal, don’t have as much time to cook these days as I would like. (The kid prefers frozen pizza and frozen waffles.)  Well… I cook up something that isn’t frozen or instant at least once a week. It makes me happy :)

Once again… I am NOT complaining about the busyness of my life. I am blessed to have such a wonderful son. I am blessed that he is healthy and able to go to college. I am blessed to work with my sisters-in-Christ every day. Nick and I are blessed to have a roof over our heads. It is a blessing that the ministry has outgrown our space. It is a blessing to spend these extra hours working on conference details. Those details are what make the attendees feel special and that blesses us. It is a blessing for me to be extra-busy. I have lost much in my life and the busyness fills the empty spaces. Thank you God for providing for me and for my heart as only You can.

Here’s a glimpse of a few of my recent blessings.

The new house and the old kid (see him peeking out from behind the pillar?)

The office in the midst of She Speaks preparation (and this is nothing – wait another week and you won’t be able to see any floor space at all). Have I mentioned that we have outgrown our space and need a new home? :)

And an amazing gift! Look at what came in the mail yesterday! Is this not the cutest thing? I would never think to do something like this. Thank you so much Brandee Loftis for blessing me and the gals in the office with your thoughtful gifts. It is clear that you put much time and much love into each one. I will be using mine to jot down new recipe ideas!

Friends, this is the Fourth of July weekend and so many will be traveling or having backyard barbeques and heading to see amazing firework displays. I will spend half of my holiday weekend making a special cake for a special friend and the other half working on She Speaks. Somewhere in there, Nick and I will enjoy something delicious and COLD (they are predicting 99 degrees over the weekend!) and sit through one of the “blow something up” movies that he enjoys. Hey… at least there will be air conditioning.

Now here’s the rerun…

If you are looking for some cool and refreshing Fourth of July dessert ideas, I put together a list last year. Nick actually loves all of these desserts and he’s pretty picky.

Here’s the link: Fourth of July Desserts

Have a wonderful holiday weekend my friends. Enjoy faith, family, freedom, and fellowship. I pray for safe travels and joyous time together with those you love most.

Sweetest Blessings,
LeAnn

If I can’t figure out something for dinner, I go for the eggs or cereal myself!

Thank you for all the work you are doing to make the conference wonderful for us! I can’t wait to attend!

Happy 4th of July weekend Lee Ann & Nick! Thanks for all you do and for the yummy recipes! I am making my momma the Easy Perfect Pecan Pie for her birthday this month. She is nuts about pecan pie! I usually buy my pies ( I work 2 jobs as a nurse and don’t have a lot of time to cook) but you made this one sound so easy I’m gonna give it a whirl!

Gods Sweetest Blessings To You :)

WOW! I am tired just READING all that you do! Praise the Lord for His many blessings in your life. I pray your 4th was a joy and that as He moves you through these transitions, He will give you a peace that surpasses all understanding!

Blessings,
ML

Well take a moment to enjoy the blessing. Don’t let all the details mess up your mood or discourage you. Enjoy each moment.
